Flooring

Flooring is a permanent covering over the floor structure with a finish material. Generally, flooring has dozens of types, but some are the most common, and they can also be seen in nearby homes or offices. Four common types of flooring There are dozens of flooring types available in modern homes. But here, we will mainly discuss only four common types of flooring. Hardwood flooring This flooring is made from a single piece of wood that is cut from a tree, and you can also choose the tree to be cut. The most common trees which are being cut for flooring are oak wood, walnut, and cherry. But you can also choose other solid wood options. Hardwood floors come in two forms pre-finished wood and unfinished wood. Both of these are different from each other as in pre-finished the floor will have the finish applied before installing planks. In unfinished hardwood, the floor is needed to be sanded down and finished so that it can become shiny and moisture- resistant. Engineered wooden flooring This flooring is more affordable and can be an alternative to solid hardwood floorings. This flooring is mainly made up of combining a top layer of hardwood and multiple layers of ply plank that will run in different directions. They almost look like solid hardwood but are better in resistance and moisture. In some areas of your home where you have high humidity, then the preferable choice is engineered flooring, just like a damp basement. This wooden flooring is less expensive and comparatively cost-effective than other flooring. Bamboo flooring This flooring falls under the general category of hardwoods. However, many of the floor makers put bamboo flooring in a class of its own. This flooring option has a comparable hardness to oak trees, and it is an eco friendly option for your homes as compared to other floorings. Bamboos which are produced naturally for making floors are lightweight and also in very light wood color. Although by processing treatments, they can give the material a darker finish, making them look like other stained woods. Most bamboo hardwoods are made from Moso bamboo, which is imported from china. Laminate flooring If anybody loves the work and look of hardwoods but just cannot afford the cost and for them, laminate flooring might be an attractive option. They have almost similar designs to engineered wood floors. The main difference between wooden and laminate floors is that laminate does not have a top layer of wood. Also, this flooring is not suitable as hard flooring for bathrooms and should be used under some conditions in kitchens or laundries.
