Towel Bar|Ring|Robe hook

A towel ring serves an important purpose in a healthy bathroom environment. The main use for a towel ring will be to hold a hand towel. Some are able to hold bath towels as well. With that being said, most towel rings will be used on a smaller scale. The most common location for a towel ring is within a few inches of your bathroom sink. Towel rings are primarily used to hold hand towels. This is perfect for both guest bathrooms and residential bathrooms. Placing this bathroom accessory at the ready is always a great way to increase comfort in a bathroom vanity area. In addition, it will keep you from dripping water all over the area. Towel bars are staple bathroom accessories in essentially every bathroom design. The inclusion of a towel bar allows you to hold your hand towels and bath towels comfortably in a dedicated area.
  • Self-Adhesive - Self-adhesive towel rings are incredibly easy to install and extremely reliable. If dealing with smaller spaces such as guest bathrooms or powder rooms, self-adhesive towel rings can be easily implemented in a timely manner.
  • Rectangular or Round - Towel rings will generally come in two general shapes. Rounded towel rings are softer and more traditional in design, while rectangular towel rings offer a more modern take on the traditional style. Both of these shapes encompass many variations and even some more abstract designs to fit various different bathroom designs.

  • Open or Closed - A closed towel ring will simply be a closed rounded or rectangular towel ring that has a towel fed through the opening to hold it. An open towel ring will have some type of opening in the accessory, allowing the towel to be either fed through or slid on the ring.

Towel Bar Dimensions

  • Depth of the towel bar - The standard depth of a towel bar will generally fall between 2” and 3” for most towel bars. The depth of a towel bar is determined by measuring how much space is between the wall and the bar on which a towel is held. Depending on the style of towel bar, this measurement can vary.
  • Thickness or diameter of the towel bar - Typically most towel bars will have a diameter or thickness of about ½” to 1”, with ¾” being the most common. This will be the case for most round towel bars. Rectangular towel bars will vary in how they are made, with some being much thinner, and others being more similar to round towel bar thickness.
  • Typical size of the backplates or Escutcheon plate dimensions - If a towel bar has any escutcheon plates or backplates, they will typically fall within the range of 3” x 3” or below. The length and width of the backplates will vary depending on the style of the towel bar.
